Emily Baumrin, MD, MSCE

Assistant Professor of Dermatology

Emily Baumrin has a clinical and research interest in dermatologic conditions in cancer and transplant patients. Her research focuses instrument development and outcome measures in chronic graft versus host disease as well as elucidation of mechanisms of disease through translational research collaborations.

Zelma C. Chiesa Fuxench, MD

Assistant Professor of Dermatology

Dr. Chiesa Fuxench’s research focuses on the epidemiology, risk factors, and genetics of inflammatory skin diseases, primarily atopic dermatitis, and she is actively involved in clinical trials of novel therapies for atopic dermatitis. Her work is centered on studying the natural course of the disease.

Daniel B. Shin, PhD

Research Assistant Professor of Dermatology

Daniel B. Shin’s areas of interest include clinical trials, functional data, and epidemiology. Dr. Shin works with electronic medical records and large data sets; he also develops tools for statistical image analysis and quantifying disease states.

Junko Takeshita, MD, PhD, MSCE

Assistant Professor of Dermatology

Dr. Takeshita’s research program is dedicated to identifying, understanding and eliminating health and healthcare disparities related to dermatologic diseases, particularly chronic inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis and acne. She uses quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research techniques to study health disparities.
