About the Lab:
Dr. Nathanson is a physician-scientist, an internationally recognized cancer geneticist/genomicist, and the Deputy Director of the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on the elucidation of the inherited and somatic genetics of cancer, specifically in testicular cancers, neuroendocrine tumors, melanoma, and familial breast and ovarian cancer; recently, many of these studies have utilized massively parallel sequencing and associated analyses. She is MPI of a T32 postdoctoral training grant in Genomic Medicine from NHGRI.
Training Information:
Dr. Nathanson is highly committed to training and has trained 11 postdoctoral fellows, who have been very successful in obtaining funding and faculty positions. Within the past three years, three of her trainees have moved onto academic positions – Assistant Professors at New York University and the University of Colorado, Denver, and Director of Gynecologic Oncology Research at Christiana Care Health System, Delaware.
