About the Lab:
Dr. Mitra conducts both methodological and collaborative research in the area of statistical genetics and causal inference. Her primary statistical research focuses on the development of methods for the analysis of population-based and family-based genetic association studies. In Dr. Mitra’s collaborative work, she has served as lead statistician on several research projects with investigators at the University of Pennsylvania including candidate gene association studies, genome-wide association studies, and deep sequencing studies of rare variants of melanoma, testicular germ cell tumors, breast cancer, chronic kidney disease, atopic dermatitis and chronic wounds and wound repair.
Training Information:
Dr. Mitra has mentored numerous trainees, including predocs and postdocs! Her trainees have gone on to successful careers in both the private sector and academia, where several hold faculty appointments.
