Biography

Originally from Atlantic City, Dr. Jessica Brown-Korsah completed a 2021 Pre-Residency Fellowship in Skin of Color and Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma (CTCL) at the University of Pennsylvania under the expert mentorship of Dr. Susan C. Taylor. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2023 and then completed her preliminary year at Main Line Health – Lankenau Medical Center before starting at her Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship/Dermatology Residency at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Brown-Korsah’s passion for dermatology stems from a personal experience with a family member who suffered from CTCL. After witnessing the long journey to diagnosis and the impact of the disease on her loved one’s quality of life, she became inspired to pursue a career in dermatology and focus her research on cutaneous malignancies.

During her research year, Dr. Brown-Korsah studied racial differences in the diagnosis, treatment, and health outcomes of patients with cutaneous malignancies. In addition to research, she played a key role in founding the Scarring Alopecia Foundation Medical Student Program, showcasing her leadership skills and commitment to driving change in dermatology. Furthermore, she partnered with the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation to spearhead diversity initiatives and increase medical students’ interest in CTCL research. Dr. Brown-Korsah looks forward to a career in academic dermatology with a focus on cutaneous oncology.
