Biography

Noelle Desir earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from New York University. Prior to starting medical school, Noelle worked as a Medical Assistant and Scribe at a busy medical dermatology practice in Manhattan. She then matriculated at Weill Cornell Medical College where she served as the Class President of the Class of 2025 from 2021-2024. As a third-year medical student, she joined the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania as a Skin of Color Dermatology Fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Susan C Taylor and Dr. Temitayo Ogunleye.

Noelle is deeply committed to health equity. During her undergraduate career she authored a comprehensive 60-page thesis on maternal and infant mortality disparities among Black Americans. Her clinical interests have since evolved, and she aspires to specialize in inflammatory dermatologic conditions such as atopic dermatitis, immunomodulatory therapies, alopecia, and the promotion of diversity and health equity within dermatology.

A strong advocate for giving back to her community, Noelle has served as a Senior Clinician at Weill Cornell’s student-run community clinic and provided social support to uninsured clinic patients who were most at risk for loss to follow up through weekly telephone conversations. Noelle also serves as a mentor for premedical students offering guidance on their undergraduate studies, research, and medical school applications. Weill Cornell Medicine recognized her commitment to service by inducting her into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in Spring 2024.
