How to Apply

Application for Spring 2026 PASH Saturday Academy are now open!

PASH will run 4 consecutive Saturdays from 9am – 1pm each day at the University of Pennsylvania. 10-12th graders in Philadelphia public and charter schools can apply.

Eligibility

Must attend a Philadelphia public or charter high school’ students from private or suburban schools are not eligible and applications will not be considered
Sophomore, junior, or senior in high school
No prior experience in research is necessary

Important Dates

Application Deadline: January 9, 2026
Acceptance Notification: February 2026
Program Dates:
- February 28: 9 AM – 1 PM
- March 7: 9 AM – 1 PM
- March 14: 9 AM – 1 PM
- March 21: 9 AM – 1 PM

"I never knew waking up at 7 am to catch the 8:10 bus for 4 Saturdays would be the highlight of my day. For every Monday that rolled around, I couldn’t help but wish it was Saturday again so I could attend my PASH workshop. Every Saturday was as blissful and exciting as the next. Application Instructions

Steps to Apply:

Fill out the application form, including the short essay questions. You may use this form for our online submission and can edit it until the application deadline.

We have volunteers that can proof your essay responses. If you are interested in using this resource please send your draft essay responses (word document) to psom-outreach@pennmedicine.upenn.edu no later than a week before applications close.

Teachers providing recommendations need to complete a brief survey HERE. Survey should take approximately 10 minutes. Formal letters are not accepted. Please provide your teacher with this link.

All accepted students who successfully complete the Saturday academy (i.e. attend all four Saturday workshops) are eligible to apply for for summer research internships through the Office of Outreach, Education, & Research. All summer interns also participate in participate in Penn Dermatology’s Early Cutaneous Research (ECuRE) Programming during their summer internship experience.
