How Physicians Can Access Penn Dermatopathology and Penn Cutaneous Pathology Services

Patients interested in obtaining a second opinion or verification on a previous diagnosis should consider discussing the Penn Cutaneous Pathology Services with their physician or health care provider. This is a diagnostic service that provides Penn doctors as well as referring physicians from the Philadelphia region and across the country with state-of-the-art diagnostic and dermatopathology services, including test results within 24 hours from receipt of a biopsy or specimen, in most cases.

Test results are provided by fax, mail or electronically at DermPath.

The skin, hair, nail and oral pathology laboratory is staffed by board-certified and nationally recognized skin pathologists and an oral pathologist.
